Death in Lansford Bank Cashier Found Dead
In Lansford North Dakota on December 20 W C Powman the cashier of the Farmer and Merchants Bank was found dead in a room behind the bank. His son George Putnam discovered the body and alerted Attorney J P Hall and Postmaster Bank. A coroner jury was summoned to determine if the death was accidental or not and a verdict had not yet been reached. Powman had moved from Minneapolis six months ago and served as cashier, with George Porter of Minneapolis as president. The cause remains unknown and the bank’s finances are not expected to be affected.
