County Judge Emmet Pew was badly scorched last Thursday when gasoline flashes from a spark on his lighter lit the cup he held while pouring drops on a lighter to start a tractor. Flames ignited his clothes and burned his arm and hand but he escaped serious eye injury and smothered the flames by rolling in soft plowed ground before being taken to town for medical care. His family and farmhand assisted as he crawled to safety.
