Killing at Edmore Blind Pig Leaves One Dead
In Edmore, 25 miles northeast of town, a Monday shooting at Peltiere’s blind pig left Carl Okelsen alive with a neck wound and another man fatally shot. Deputy Hanson and Constable Johnson arrested Peltiere who drew a pistol. Hanson fired, Peltiere died two hours later. Okelsen, 65, a Walsh county farmer, survived after doctors treated his wound. Peltiere, known as Frenchy, had a hard local reputation and left no relatives here.
