A Devils Lake meeting set for October to organize the State Federation of Woman's Clubs at Mrs. A M Powell's home. Dr Anna Shortridge elected chair and Mrs B E Baldwin secretary of the temporary group. Committees formed for entertainment, homes, hotels, arts and crafts, badges, finance, information, and program as plans unfold. Silver service exhibition at North Dakota battleship fund drive
At the state fair in Grand Forks a grand silver service for the Battleship North Dakota drew attention. A model of the ship accompanied by a turret officer from Washington explained its construction. Daily punch from the punch bowl raised over $350 with total fund nearing $7,000 of a $10,000 goal. After harvest, the committee will press counties that have not yet met their apportionment.
