Uniform Marine Recreational Fishing Act sparks licensing debate
A Michigan congressman proposes HR 2965 The Uniform Marine Recreational Fishing Act of 1983 to require licenses for anglers on all coasts. It envisions annual fees of at least five dollars, reciprocal state validity, boat and pier operator licenses at no less than five hundred dollars, and independent state boards to oversee policy and funding dedication to recreational fisheries.
