Sea Ada Halter SES air cushioned catamaran debuts in Destin
Destin audiences watched the 70 foot aluminum hulled Halter SES speed craft at the Billfish Classic. Built in New Orleans by Halter Marine, the 70 footer seats 65 and reaches 60 mph on a cushion of air aided by a bow V-6 diesel and two V-12s for propulsion. It features a 2400 gallon fuel tank, 125 foot rooster tail at speed, and is offered for about 2 million dollars with potential roles as crew boat or pleasure craft. Coast Guard has already taken a 150 foot SES, and Navy plans a 250 foot unit.
