Destin Airport runway expansion bogged by FAA paperwork
An April crash at Destin Airport highlighted the need for a longer runway as a Citation jet overran the 5,000 foot strip and 200 foot overrun in rain. Okaloosa County officials cite FAA clearance delays and relocating offices as hindering plans to extend the runway by 500 feet at both ends and enlarge the parking area.
