Council approves seawall for East Pass Towers on Holiday Isle
The Pensacola council unanimously approves J W Grantham's plan to build a 1285 foot seawall at East Pass Towers to protect Wallace Yost's waterfront property from erosion after Hurricane Elena. The wall will sit 24 inches high, six to eight feet deep, with a 16 foot public beach access easement and a 20 foot gap from the mean high water line at the southeast end. The Harbor Board supported the project but warned erosion could erode the 16 foot public strip. Grantham urged state talks on beach nourishment and represents Marine Construction Inc.
