Fire Budget Hearing Set In Destin For 1983-84 Budget
Destin Fire Control District board meets in regular session September 12 to discuss the fiscal year 1983 84 budget. A budget committee and Fire Chief Terry Watkins have met in workshops to review anticipated income and expenditures. A 0 5 millage rate used for Destin taxation will be recommended for approval. A public hearing follows Monday September 19 at 7 p m at the Destin Fire Station on Stahlman Avenue. Both meetings are open to all citizens.

Drowning Victim Found In Choctawhatchee Bay
The body of John E. Hagstrom of Manassas Virginia was found floating in the Gulf about a half mile offshore after the Catamaran he sailed on capsized in Choctawhatchee Bay. Hagstrom was sailing with two Niceville men when the 18 foot craft overturned near Light 13. Coast Guard and Air Force assets aided the search until the body was recovered and the medical examiner confirmed drowning.
