Channel Reconfigures East Pass Channel to Aid Navigation
The East Pass channel will be restored to its original course after a recentweir closure redirected currents eastward. The 12 by 180 foot dredged channel will run toward Norriego Point and beaches in front of East Pass Towers and Waterview Towers. Condo representatives say dredging improves access to Destin Harbor and shore safety, while the Destin Charter Boat Association cautions about navigational hazards from a sunken jetty wing.
