MFC eyes 12 fish king mackerel limit for Florida waters
The Marine Fisheries Commission proposes a 12 fish per person bag limit for commercial hook and line King Mackerel in state waters from Jupiter to Fowey Light. Action could become law after rule writing, hearings, and final approval by the governor and Cabinet, with opposition from the Destin Charter Boat Association. The panel also bans gill nets for Redfish in large state waters and sets minimum mesh sizes for east coast gill nets, while reviewing Grouper and Snapper rules and recreational bag limits.
