Walton Authority Eyes Airspace and Regional Airport Plan
Walton County Airport Authority met to discuss airspace access with the FAA and two Panhandle bases. Bob McClendon said FAA Orlando office discussed filing an airspace application. Eglin and Tyndall were cooperative though Tyndall cautioned. Possible sites include 3000 acres east of US 331 south of US 98, and 2240 acres at First American Farms, near Freeport. Armbruster proposed the latter. airspace unlikely near Eglin test range. A Feb 17 meeting will address First American Farms. Bob Bannerman will survey real estate offices and lodging with University of Florida census data to gauge need. results due Feb.
