Kidnap Suspect Named But Withheld By Sheriff
An 18 year old man wanted for armed burglary kidnapping and armed robbery in Destin is unnamed pending arrest. Sheriff Gilbert says no leads and asks media not to release the suspect’s name to protect the victim’s family. The victim Richard Harvell was forced to withdraw 2700 dollars and driven to South Walton County where he was tied to a tree. The gunman fled in Harvell's 1978 blue Chevrolet van after Harvell burned the tape to escape. Authorities say the suspect previously faced forgery and burglary charges.
