Man's Death Ruled Death by Own Action in Destin Dunes
Duane R. Frisk, 30, of 1015 Bayshore Drive, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the sand dunes east of Seagrove Beach. A .22 pistol lay beneath him. autopsy confirmed death by own action after his family reported him missing. Walton County Sheriff spokesperson said a friend located the pickup near the beach.

Destin manager presses DOT on median cut shifts near Emerald Coast
Destin City Manager Jack Dorman urged the state DOT to move two U S 98 median cuts for safety and alignment. He wants the western cut on Emerald Coast Parkway moved about 300 feet east to the hill crest and the Grand Mariner cut shifted about 50 feet to align with the condo entrance. DOT says the Emerald Coast Parkway move is planned. MPO will consider the other request at its January 29 meeting.
