Buried Alive by Pallets After Florida Crash
Jerry Dernay, 78, was rescued from a wreck on foggy USS Highway 98 near Gulfshore Drive when a semi tipped and pallets collapsed onto his car. Firefighters used Jaws of Life to free him from the 1982 Grand Prix as other vehicles were damaged. Dernay, hospitalized with a back fracture, credits luck and the Good Lord for his survival and notes his seat belt likely saved his life.
