Florida duck and waterfowl season details and limits
Florida announces the second duck season of the 15 through January 18 with hunting hours from before sunrise to sunset and a point based daily bag limit system. Values assign 100 points to fulvous ducks and mottled ducks, 70 to redheads and wood ducks, 35 to mallards and several others, 20 to teal and similar species, and 15 for coots with a 30 possession limit. Geese and several others have no season. Steel shot zones are established and licensing and stamps required. Public notices urge review of proposed 1987-88 hunting regs with a January 15 comment deadline. Woodcock season runs Dec 13 through Jan 26 with a three-bird daily limit and specific shooting hours. Hunters must plug shotguns to three shells and comply with weapon restrictions.
