Councilman Richard Duke plans to raise a proposal Monday to switch Destin City Council meetings from twice a month to once a month. In related business, Councilmen Danny Woodward and Lloyd Taylor aim to pass a resolution opposing fishing licenses.

The MPO approved a 2015 long-range transportation plan for south Okaloosa and Walton counties, adding a north of College Boulevard four-lane freeway at Niceville residents’ request. The plan worth about 320 million dollars largely preserves other road and bridge projects and calls for another public hearing in late January or early February. Fort Walton Beach Mayor John Shortall questioned the necessity of such expenditure.
