Destin Fishermen Survive Gulf Ordeal After 12 Hours at Sea
Destin area anglers John Cook and Peter Brown were rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter after more than 12 hours aboard the sinking 47-foot Roamer V. A tanker captain helped locate them, and they were treated for hypothermia in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Clark built the vessel, faced rough 10 to 15 foot waves, and recalled keeping warm with life jackets and periodic checks as they waited for rescue.
