Heat Does Not Deter Local Fishing Boats and Catches
The hot dog days of summer keep crowds away from the docks but charter and party boats persevere. Captains like Tommy Browning, Jon Windes, David Boudreau, Mike Nunnelee, Kelly Windes, Joe Taylor, William Frank Davis, and Doug Dietz report strong catches of Grouper Red Snapper and Wahoo aboard vessels such as Finest Kind Summer Wind Fish N Fool Silver Lining Sunrise Anastasia 3 Sea Notes and Shooting Star. King Mackerel limits are being reached in Timber Holes with two notable 42 pound fish. Young anglers Tim Previtt and Stephanie Rateau witnessed a Sailfish show while trolling. It’s cooling off but fishing remains active.
