School Board Eyes Fund Loss in Okaloosa County
Okaloosa County School Board faces a near one million dollar cut in federal impact aid for military families. The board freezes new staffing allocations, reviews all positions, and shifts $1 million from reserves to cover the loss, warning next year could bring up to $2 million more in cuts. Destin Elementary expansion remains tied to teacher pupil ratios and capital outlay funding.
