Air New Orleans May Resume Destin Flight Service
Okaloosa County officials say Air New Orleans plans to restart round trip service between Destin and New Orleans with departures from New Orleans or Panama City on Thursdays Fridays and Sunday evenings starting in May. The airline would operate as a drop off service at the airport without terminal use and no fixed base operator arrangements. Commissioners will seek comments from the Destin Airport fixed base operator Walt Brigman before proceeding.

Destin Chamber backs runway extension and ILS push
The Destin Chamber urged Okaloosa County to seek federal funding to extend Destin Airport runways from 5 000 to 6 000 feet and to pursue an Instrument Landing System. Airport Manager Coy Thomason warned FAA approval depends on need, environmental and land concerns, and master plan justification while noting possible Eglin resistance to an ILS.
