Community notices urge every woman to voluntarily report at local registration booths to help win the war. Registration is non compulsory but records will guide service offers. Booths are in Dermott at the Chicot Hotel lobby and a colored-women booth at Peoples Drug Store.
Dermott newspaper itemizes rental offers sales ads and services plus personal updates. Notices include property for sale and rent, a blacksmith job ad, seed and farm equipment offers, local visitors and candidates, plus upcoming events at the Chicot Hotel and Dermott Theatre and school lyceum program.
The city election Tuesday produced a light turnout. Mayor Bennett and Aldermen Hoffman and Prothro were re elected. Marshal Ab Parrish defeated Jim Johnson, Recorder J T Crenshaw edged AG Cavaness, and Treasurer GA Franklin ran unopposed. Ward One elected A J Collard and Arthur McDermott. Ward Three chose A J Blanks and J T Freeman. Central Committeemen were Henry Guster Harvey Parnell and Ro Wo Lane.
A contest invites the public to propose a name for a new theatre. Beginning next Monday February 2 with nightly entries through March 2, each admission earns a name submission. The manager will judge and award five dollars in gold on the Friday after the final night.
The Board of Health requires all residents to clean premises from March 1 to March 5 with streets gullets and alleys cleared of rubbish. Rubbish should be placed in receptacles for easy removal. those unable to haul waste may use the city scavenger service before the deadline. Noncompliance results in cleaned premises at the owner's expense.
Bo G. Ham mock arranged with Internal Revenue Collector Jack Walker of Little Rock for a depure from his office to Dermott from Monday, February 25 to Thursday, February 28 to aid residents in preparing income tax returns. The service offers convenience, saving a drive to the county seat.

The Knitting Club plans another box of garments to headquarters between February 26 and March 1. Knitters are urged to finish pieces and submit them for the shipment if possible. Mrs. Harvey Parnell, Chairwoman.
