Missionary Convention Sessions and Local Notices

A sequence of events at the M FE Church includes a September 20-21 missionary convention with prayer, devotions, sermons, and discussions on home and foreign missions. Local attendees, travel to Indianapolis for the state fair, and community notices about health and society are listed along with various names and travels.

Freight wreck halts near Denver on L E W line

A northbound L E W freight collided near a saw mill about 3:00 am Monday, derailing seven cars and damaging two others. The pileup occurred near the south switch to the Y, with no injuries reported as crews planned to back to their destinations after the wrecking crew cleared the lines.

Murphy and Whistler Wed in Local Ceremony

Mrs Anna Murphy of this place and William Whistler of Richland Township were married Monday evening by Rev J F Rake. They will reside near Chili for now. Friends extend best wishes for a long and happy life together. Mrs S M Fisher and son Halstead and Miss Sue Vore of Peru are visiting in Denver this week.

Quarterly Meeting and Old Folk's Day at Ebenezer

At Ebenezer on September 15 1905 the second Quarterly Meet ing of the Denver charge will begin with a two o'clock Quarterly Conference led by Rev. Herrick Presiding Elder. Evening preaching by Rev. Herrick. Sunday schedule includes 9 30 am Sunday School 10 30 am preaching 11 30 sacramental service 12 00 dinner in the basement 2 00 Love Feast 3 00 preaching 7 00 Epworth League service 10 00 o'clock preaching and an invitation to all especially the old people with baskets to worship together H Lacey.

Perry Cover and wife trans acted business in Macy Saturday. QO. T. Haskett of Indianapolis spent Sunday in Denver with his family. Samuel Keim and wife of near Macy visited Denver relatives Saturday. Clarence Fouts WJ Piper and HJ Meredith left for South Dakota Monday. Mr and Mrs Milton Baum and N A Friend and wife, all of Peru, were Sunday guests of Ira Friend and wife. A N Dukes of Peru called on old friend M N Taylor yesterday. Mr and Mrs Josiah Haines of Peru are guests of L A Haines and family. Burton Green and George Thompson of Perrysburg were in Denver today on business. Toni Lowman wife and daughter Mildred were Sunday guests of William Grimes and wife. Miss Golden Newell leaves today for Valparaiso to study for the coming year. Daniel Raber went to Loganport Monday where he has a position as watchman at the Garritson Basket factory.
