Miami County Sunday School Convention in Peru

The Miami County Sunday School Convention meets September 24 and 25 in the new Presbyterian church at Peru. State Secretary Halpenny opens Monday evening and international worker Dr Merritt speaks Tuesday. The program features lectures on Sunday school vision methods, superintendent duties, and a highlight by Chas H Black inventor of the Sand Board.

Public Schools Open On September 24

Public schools will open Monday September 24. Parents should bring children on the first day and encourage study. Some text books have changed. do not buy until after one session so the teacher can advise. First bell 8 15 am, second 8 45 am. Graduates from common branches wishing to review with the 8th year may call Saturday afternoon 2 to 4 at the school building.

Boy Hurls Shot Gun Accident In Horn Injury

Twelve year old Charles Hays son of S J Hays suffered a serious accident Sunday when a shotgun discharged into a phonograph horn he held. The shot tore the horn and wounded his thumb. Dr Newell dressed the injury and reports he is improving as expected.

Fay's Big Show Comes to Denver Exhibition

Fay's Big Show will exhibit under canvas in Denver on Friday September 21 1906 presenting Washington Irving's Rip Van Wrinkle or The Sleep of Twenty Years with new scenery painted for the tour. The production is free of offensive comedy and vulgarity and includes a military band concert around noon.

Pleasant Surprise Birthday Party for Miss Laura Kerschner

A surprise party honored Miss Laura Kerschner at her Ebenezer area home last Friday for her fourteenth birthday. She played the organ as sixty guests burst in, and after a happy hour they departed around midnight. All reported a good time.
