Alvin F. White, pastor, notes three Sundays without services or Sunday School due to a ban. Regular services may resume next Sunday if lifted. Sunday School at 9 30, preaching at 10 30, Epworth League devotional at 6 16, evening service at 7. Quarterly conference set for Chili on November 10.
Glen Edward Benedict youngest son of Mr and Mrs Edward Benedict died October 1918 at age months 15 days. He was a bright child mourned by his mother father and six siblings Gladys Helen Edna Elizabeth Frank and William. The poem notes a vacant chair and the lone dead lamb.
War Savings pledges in Indiana must be checked for unredeemed amounts. Secretary McAdoo urges purchasers to arrange early redemption and notify buyers. The aim is to boost cash sales before Christmas, with a message to merchants and officials in Miami County and Peru.

Woodkirk Wright of the Great Lakes Naval Training Station arrives home on a twelve day furlough to join his parents Mr and Mrs J R Wright and family after a serious illness with influenza and pneumonia. He notes that seventeen hundred of the boys died in the camps there.
Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Kline and son Wilton along with John Raber and daughter Lucy traveled to Marion last Saturday and stayed until Sunday evening. Raber and Lucy met with Charles Marley and family while the Klines were guests of Mrs. Kline's parents Mr. and Mrs. James Stratton. The journey was taken in the Rubert automobile.
Rev and Mrs William Melton and Mr and Mrs R S Place with children Dorothy Rosanna and Robert Speck were pleasantly entertained at dinner Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Golden and their little daughter Margaret Tirzah.
Mr and Mrs William Groat of Birmington spent Saturday afternoon in Denver visiting Mrs Mary E Cornell sister of Mrs Groat and her tatters.
Miss Ruby Cunningham spent Friday to Monday in Peru as the guest of her sister Mrs Larry Holton and family, joining local social events and noting the hospitality extended during the visit.
Will Reins and Ray Gillette of Rensselaer visited Mr and Mrs Charles Long and other relatives in Denver during the latter part of last week.
The Omnipartisan Temperance League of Miami County asks 11th district candidates to reveal liquor policy positions. Milton Kraus pledges continued temperance support. George Rauch offers no reply and is accused of siding with wet interests. Indiana American urges voting Kraus to support prohibition.
A group of women from Peru and Denver gathered at Mrs. Mary E. Cornell's new home to surprise her and her grandson Jay Cornell. They arrived around eleven last Wednesday morning and shared a splendid lunch, with all guests enjoying the meal as Mrs. Cornell and Jay expressed delighted surprise.
