Reports from across the country show vigorous constructive work with labor well employed at good wages. The Dun and Bradstreet review notes a 4.6 percent rise in the cost of living year over year while demand in iron and steel remains strong. Wheat prices rise slightly as corn softens and futures volumes are given for the week.
Louisville Wy residents recount a warning from a mysterious woman to Dr. C Lemberger. The nine day prophecy stated the mare would die the hunting dog vanish and the doctor would die. The doctor died of heart failure on the ninth day, while other prophecies appeared fulfilled. Police and detectives search for the unidentified predictor amid questions of psychic influence. The tale also recalls a prior case where Lemberger treated a sick child misdiagnosed as diphtheria, leading to a fatal outcome and renewed inquiry into the doctor’s life.
A Lane Kansas dance ended in a fatal brawl leaving two men dead from burns one fatally injured and another insane. John Teehan was struck and injured. Eugene Cronin and J McDonald slept at Cronin’s office when it was set ablaze, burning both men. Cronin’s father has become violently insane. The report also notes census figures and other crime items from across the region.
Miss Millie Pottgelser, once a leading cathedral singer in St Paul, eloped with Father William A Dolan. The church never recognized the marriage, and Dolan is now in a Pennsylvania monastery while Pottgelser prepares for a stage career under the name Millie Dolan.
William Joyce and his wife died from gas asphyxiation at the Joyce parents home in Brooklyn after a sleepover at the Duff household. Brother of the wife, Joseph Duff, suspects accidental gas use led to the tragedy and notes the couple had spent the evening with the Duffs and were to stay overnight. Joyce spoke to Joseph when the gas was lit and the brother later turned it off. No grounds for suicide are found. IndictTwo Faith Curers. Indictments for manslaughter were returned by the Butler County grand jury in Hamilton Ohio against Sylva Bishop and Leotu Bishop, faith curists, for the July gasoline explosion that burned their 8-year-old Esther after they refused medical care.
The Minnesota Federation of Women's Clubs votes to admit clubs with both men and women and to retain the eight such clubs already admitted, with representation at federation meetings limited to women.
Saucy Chief, leader of Osage progressives, died at Pawhuska O T after a lingering illness. He was 85 and had joined Kansas home guards in 1862, serving with distinction in several battles. Kansas judge rules Kansas City Live Stock Exchange a monopoly violating anti trust laws. Rudd Iowa bank safe dynamited, $1500 stolen, robbers fled toward Nora Junction with a banded escape.
George Frinkel aged 69 and his daughter Celia Haberer were struck by a Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton passenger train south of Dayton Ohio. Celia Haberer was killed instantly and George Frinkel was badly injured. Germany sends two more warships toward Venezuela seen as step to foothold in Caribbean waters.
A city owned reservoir holding 10 million gallons burst in East Liverpool Ohio causing heavy damage. No fatalities occurred but several residents had narrow escapes as workers nearby survived when the wall failed. The 500 foot hillside basin sent a flood down the incline, prompting mass evacuations and an estimated loss around 150000 dollars.
Six robbers blew the vault of Farmers' and Citizens' Bank in Iro Ohio early Tuesday using nitroglycerin. They seized about $40,000, fired on Mayor McConnel, bound the livery-stable owner, and escaped in rigs. Police reported a dramatic break in as criminals drove away with loot.

Antonio Maggio an Italian cornetist with an opera company was indicted in Albuquerque New Mexico for conspiracy in the McKinley shooting. Secret service agents furnished evidence and witnesses testified that Maggio predicted the president’s death before October 1 and expressed regret at not being chosen to strike the blow.
John Most, the anarchist, was sentenced to one year in the New York penitentiary by Judge Hinsdale in the Court of Special Sessions for publishing in the Freiheit an alleged seditious article titled Murder Against Murder the day after President McKinley was shot. The court held the article criminal for inciting murder as a remedy for rulers, regardless of its old publication. TELLS OF M'KINLEY WOUNDS.
Dr. Mann testified before the New York Medical Society on President McKinley's wounds. He described a first bullet between the second and third ribs that would have been fatal if it had not glanced, a second wound in the left hypochondrium, and a perforated stomach wall closed by Czerny Lembert sutures. He speculated death may never be known and cited age, a weak heart, and sedentary habits as contributing factors.
At the Episcopal triennial convention in San Francisco the house of deputies rejected the proposed marriage and divorce canons despite adoption by the house of bishops. The bishops had approved a canon forbidding remarriage of a divorced person by a priest, but the final action by the deputies overturned it.
