On a South Pacific coast, a giant Brute confronts cannibal tribes and rescues captives including Hernandez from savage rites. The Brute’s godlike aura is challenged by Hernández and the crowd as Neal and Annette await rescue from a wrecked ship. Missouri is en route with a wireless message to aid.
Hernandez drives the Brute to the chief’s throne then seizes control guiding a dawn escape through the jungle. On the beach Annette and crew fear a raid while a brutal rescue ends with Inez taken and the sailors overpowered.
Annette Slington struggles with captors as a primitive ceremony unfolds on a beach. Neal and Hernandez rescue her as two marines arrive by wireless, felling the village and saving Annette, Neal, and the Brute lies wounded while Annette’s mother lies shocked nearby.
Neal, aboard a stranded fruit steamer, spots a calm sea and vows to signal the Missouri while mum and Annette await relief. He tells his mother he will row to the wreck to secure food and assist, hoping to avert starvation.
