Terre Haute Indiana February 21 funeral services for W R McKeen were held at the family home. City and county offices closed for an hour and officials attended. Indiana State Normal School closed. pallbearers included McKeen National Bank staff. messages of condolence came from Joseph G Cannon and Charles W Fairbanks.
Shelbyville reports Harry Downey, law partner of Charles Major, says Major left a will and that all property was held jointly by Major and wife Alice Major. The Majors owned 800 to 900 acres of land, farm property, plus New York holdings, life insurance, and a large bank balance. A brother in Illinois was considered but not proved.
Anderson February 21 Wallace Britton a grocer who vanished Monday morning walked into town from the southwest on the Indiana Union Traction last evening. He went to relatives where he had been living since his wife was sent to a hospital for the insane a year ago. Britton could not recall where he had been or whom he met Monday night.
Fort Wayne Feb 21 Louis Kellogg of this city is believed to hold the record for wife desertion. On the stand in city court Kellogg's wife testified he had deserted her eighteen times in the last fourteen months.
Richmond Feb 21 George Amsdon aged 62 a noted trainer and driver of trotting horses in the middle west was stricken with apoplexy at Eaton Ohio authorities report his condition is serious and under care of physicians in the Ohio town
Clinton Coal company uses compressed air to pump water from flooded Crown Hill mine No 1 west of Clinton Indiana. An electric pump failed to lower water. air system and drilling connected to another mine slowly reduce water levels while No 2 and No 3 face continued inundation and potential losses of hundreds of workers.
Anderson Mrs Viola Victoris Ileske, 44, recently divorced, wed William Vialor, 47, in Brazil. Brazil officers named for the Chautauqua include Lewis McNutt president and Dr Andrew Spears vice president. Tipton reports 400 Odd Fellows homecoming with lectures and banquet. A French vineyard owner in Capestang near Beziers was fined for picking grapes left on vines after harvest, claimed as property of the poor by an old law dating to 477 percent. The Beziers court affirmed the police view and convict stood.
