The Brethren Church lists Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and preaching at 10:30 a.m. Christian Endeavor at 6 p.m. followed by another sermon at 7 p.m. The pastor just returned from a three week revival at Tiosa. Regular services every two weeks are planned with a cordial invitation to all.
Miss Kathryn Balsbaugh was shopping in Peru Saturday. Beatrice Long Beatrice Long and Zula Long and Treva Dukes were guests of Miss Orma Dukes Tuesday night.
The Denver Epworth League schedules a market on Saturday before Easter March 29 in the Clyde Miller egg room with all invited. Mr Hobbs of Denver Garage Co recently moved family plans from Morocco. The Brower dam incident is clarified as Mrs Brower took it, not the Endeavor Society, though Ben Brower still feared upheaval before the incident.
On Wednesday evening March 12 the Denver Commercial Club will hold its first regular meeting. Charter members who have paid dues will elect permanent officers for the ensuing year. I. B. Potts of Huntington Ind. will address attendees at Piper Hall. Ladies are invited to attend.
Willie Mohler of Ohio visited Macy Friday with George Mohler and Merle Fetrow to spend time with the former's parents. The group included a family gathering and relatives from the region.
In the Miami Circuit Court January Term 1913 Julia Ann Seppe executrix has filed final account for the estate of Frederick Seppe deceased. The court will exam the settlement March 31 1913 at Peru Indiana to determine if the account should be approved and allow heirs or legatees to prove their claims. Mr and Mrs Levi Armantrout hosted a February 25 birthday party for Mrs Armantrout south of Denver. About twenty guests including Sunday School teachers and friends enjoyed games prizes and refreshments. Mrs Armantrout received a silver gravy Jade and other gifts.
Miami County farmers led by Timothy Ginney Michael Ginney Alonzo Graft Beecher Herrell and Mr Sandifur left Peru Tuesday for a ten day look at the Black Prairie Lands in Northeast Mississippi with hope of purchase Chas C Haag and Joe Haney of Peru are local reps for the excursion which aims to attract more Miami County farmers to lands priced from 35 to 50 dollars an acre judged as highly fertile with a return trip planned for March 18.
Under the auspicies of the Miami County Grain Fruit and Live Stock Association in Mouse Hall Peru Indiana, a series of four valuable lectures were announced to cover farming, fruit growing, grain markets, and livestock care.
Program notes for Saturday March 15 include 1:15 p m session on Rotations and Fertilizations for Corn by Prof J C Beavers of Purdue University and 2:30 p m session on Hog Cholera and Hog Cholera Control by Prof R A Craig of Purdue University.
On Saturday March 22 at 1 30 p m Prof G M Frier of Purdue runs a seed corn handling seminar. Alma Garvin of Purdue Domestic Science demonstrates for Miami County Home Economics at Peru Presbyterian Church with 15 cents admission for both sessions.
Saturday afternoon talk by Fred C. Palin of Newton Indiana titled How I Grew a $1 000 Ear of Corn. Lectures about Corn and Cholera offered with season tickets for 25 cents per copy.
Mrs. Charles Shoemaker sustained severe burns to her face after adding coal oil to a low stove at home following busy sewing at the Brethren Church. An explosion occurred causing the injuries.
A local bank advertises a promotion promising a “key to success” for young men. By depositing one dollar, the bank book key is given free and refundable when claimed, claimed to open the door to good positions and business success.
The Denver Dramatic Club presents The Daughter of the Desert a four act drama set in 1882 in Arizona next Friday evening March 7 in the Piper building Denver for the Denver Fire Co. Ten characters and a two and a half hour show. Admission 25 cents adults 15 cents children 60 reserved seats 10 cents extra at door.

Charles Kile moves family from Murphy property to Beecher Hoover house. Nona Sullivan and Mamie Foster visit Sarah Matthias and sister. Bertha Lee and Mable spend Thursday with her parents east of Deedsville. Joseph See of Newton Kansas in town to be with his father George See. W F See of Eel River Chapel visits his father Monday. Albert Berger family and Grover See visit George See and wife Sunday. Ruth and May Berger visit with Fanny Hazel and Ethel Berger. Florence Marburger family called on Mrs. Sarah Berger Monday evening. Nona Sullivan visits mother in Peru this week.
Attend the Epworth League Easter market on March 29 for a day of community fun. Charles Long and wife moved their furniture into their repaired home Monday after a fire. They were aided by Mr. Longs brothers families and sister Mr and Mrs A C Cunningham.
