Norman P. Foster of the Salisbury Social Security Office warns many workers and employers misclassify casual labor. Casual labor may not count for Social Security unless it is occasional incidental or irregular and does not advance the employer's trade. specifics include limits of ten days per job within two months and total work under 200 hours for one employer. Corporations are an exception, as all services for a corporation count toward Social Security.

Mother and Son Guilty in Lonely Hearts Murder Case
Mrs. Inez Brennan and her 16 year old son Robert were found guilty of first degree murder in the Lonely Hearts killing of Wade Wooldridge, a 67 year old Stone Mountain Virginia carpenter. Owen Knotts donated by his family will be presented to the Circuit Court for Caroline County on the opening day of the October Term Monday October 3 1949 to hang in the Court Room Denton Maryland Dr E Paul Knotts will make the presentation with the court local bar association and county commissioners accepting. The 3 30 p.m. ceremony invites Judge Knotts friends and the public. FRANK MITCHELL Funeral services for 77 year old Denton farmer killed in an automobile accident were held at Concord Methodist Church Burial followed at Concord Cemetery Surviving are two sons Edward and Philp Mitchell and a brother John Mitchell of Audubon New Jersey. Rock Hall Wins Evens Series in Semi Final Playoff
Rock Hall defeated Greensboro A A 5-1 at Greensboro to even the semi finals series at one game apiece. Rock Hall scored in the first and fifth innings as Porter Royal and Myers delivered key hits while Clements held the five hit Greensboro lineup to spark the win. In the other semi final Milton beat Chestertown 2-0 to also even the series and set up a finals showdown this weekend. Large crowds expected for the decisive games.
