American Legion Presents Laff It Off at High School

The American Legion and Caro line Post No 29 in Denton Maryland will aid local veterans in applying for National Service Life Insurance dividends. Commander Marvin H Smith says refunds exist for those with NSLI policies over 90 days, with about 16 million veterans eligible nationwide and 10 million more to locate. Payments average around 175 dollars, and processing may take weeks to months.

The Greensboro A A team beat Rock Hall 3 to 1 in the first game of the Semi Final Play-Offs at Rock Hall. Greensboro trailed early, then tied the game in the sixth as Ket rik opened the frame with a single and Daniels bunt brought in the tying run. Cantlers later delivered a run producing hit to plate two more in the eighth as a wild throw extended Greensboro’s advantage. A 700 crowd saw a sharp pitching duel between Ket rik and Royal with Whitey Emswaller making a spectacular one handed catch to rob Greensboro of more runs.
