The American Legion Auxiliary North Eastern Shore District held its first year meeting at the Denton fire hall on Sept. 14. Caroline Unit No. 29 president Mrs O E Roberts opened, with Mrs Mahala Allston conducting. Guests from Girls' State shared reports and slides on their Annapolis week. Officers outlined the year's work emphasizing membership. Trophies were awarded to district units, Caroline Unit No 29 earning Honorable Mention for Child Welfare. After business, members dined with Denton fire company auxiliary. Dorchester Post No 91 then hosted joint officer installations at Cambridge on Sept. 13, followed by dinner, installation, and a dance.
