Bicyclist in Denton Critical After Auto Crash on Route 404
A 60 year old man, Nikolau Ioannou of Denton, was critically injured when a car struck his bicycle on Route 404 near the causeway in Denton. He suffered a serious head injury and a broken right leg and was taken to Memorial Hospital, Easton. The driver, Miss Elizabeth Hunter, 35, of Ridgely, struck him head on as Ioannou rode from a side street toward Route 404 on his way home to Oil City. The collision occurred about 4 20 Saturday morning and the investigation is ongoing.

Quick Thinking Man Rescues Wife From Lake
John Stanz of Lancaster Pennsylvania saved his wife during a fishing trip at Williston Lake near Denton. When Mrs. Stanz, 57, 200 pounds, fell overboard in deep water, he untied a rope from their row boat and tossed it to her. She grabbed the line and he pulled her to shore.
