Greensboro Homemakers Meet Highlights Oct 1 Session
The Greensboro Homemakers Club met in the W.S.C.S. Hall on October 1 with vice president Mrs. H. F. Butler presiding. Members sang, read a creed, and discussed safety at home. Nominating committee named for November includes Miss Annabelle Bilbrough, Mrs. Robert Ryan, and Mrs. Conrad Rosten. A food sale was planned for October 22 at 10 a.m. with Mrs. Charles Bilbrough as chair. Storage space ideas were presented by Mrs. A. B. Linhard via Mrs. Robert Ryan. Miss Bessie Spafford demonstrated in room storage and sewing methods and showcased garments from a local dress school. Recreation followed led by Miss Bilbrough.

Brethren School Adult Class Sets Plans for Year
At a late hour the Brethren Adult class met with hosts Mr and Mrs John Reinhold. They discussed being fruitful this year with aims like better attendance, better programs, social gatherings, a Bible Study, nursery completion, and finishing touches to the church basement. Treasurer reported the treasury in good condition. Suggested events included a chicken and waffle supper, balloon party, pie social, nature study, left hand ball game, toy clinic, porter table, taffy pull, kitchen band, and trips to Washington Annapolis or Longwood Gardens. Quiet games preceded a buffet supper, and several members regretted that many others missed the meeting.

Neck Meetinghouse in Denton Saved as Historic Landmark
The Neck Meetinghouse, Denton County oldest building, was recently sold to the Choptank Electric Cooperative for 200, with a deed guaranteeing grave protection and landmark status. The one acre site near Matapeake highway, once home to Society of Friends worship, was bequeathed by Mrs. Elizabeth White Dixon of Baltimore and has a history as a private school and meetinghouse.

Plans Completed For Fat Hog Show On Oct 18 Centreville

The marriage of Miss Mary Kath leen Brubaker of Denton to Mr Carlton Harvey F Porter of Greensboro occurred Saturday at 4 pm in St Elizabeths Catholic Church Denton. Rev J Francis McDonough officiated. The bride wore satinwood satin with black accessories and carried white rose buds and pompon chrysanthemums. The maid of honor was Eleanor Brubaker in mink crepe with yellow chrysanthemums. Best man was Richard Kenneth Porter. ushers Alton Brubaker Jr and Arthur Porter. A reception followed at the bride’s maternal grandmother Mrs Michael Schreiber’s home in Greensboro before a motor tour of New England states and Canada.

The Baltimore Bullets will demonstrate basketball techniques at the Denton Armory at 1:00 PM on Wednesday October 19 with players Buddy Jeanette Hal Tidrick and Appear. County high school supervisors Fred Asilton and William Murdoch arranged the event to boost interest and skills in the sport for Caroline and local teams. The clinic will cover shooting offensive play guarding passing and dribbling with a Q A session afterward. Hal Tidrick a Bullets player and Washington and Jefferson College graduate will participate along with other professionals.
