Final Corn Loan Rate Set At 1.76 Bushel In Maryland
Maryland corn growers can obtain price support loans at 3 percent interest through county PMA offices after storage of one month. The final loan rate is 1 76 per bushel for No 3 or better grade, based on 90 percent of parity as of October 1, the same as the July preliminary rate. Loans run through April 30, 1953, with on farm storage meeting PMA rules and inspections. If the corn cannot be sold at a profit, the government may take over after May 31, 1953, and farmers receive a premium if the corn grades above No 3 at takeover.
