Essay Contest Promises Prizes For County High Schoolers
An essay contest on The Three Divisions of Governmental Power Under the Federal Constitution will return to Caroline County high schools. Sponsored by the Caroline County Bar Association with local civic groups, it offers a $500 county grand prize and a $500 state first prize. Essays must be under 1000 words and due by April 1.

Delaware Power and Light moved a 62 ton 30 000 KVA 69 000 volt step regulator from Harrington Substation to a site near Wilmington. The 60 mile haul required state and canal approvals, a convoy including 2000 gallons of drained transformer oil, line crews, a Diamond State Telephone helper, and police escort. Barn Fire Destroys Wil liam C. Austins Barn Near Burrsville
A barn on William C. Austins farm near Burrsville burned Tuesday afternoon, origin undetermined. Two shews, about four tons of hay, 75 baskets of potatoes, tools and some furniture were lost. Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company resisted the blaze but could not save the barn. A nearby barn was saved and flames were subdued later that night.

The Mental Hygiene Society of Maryland orients a fundraising drive in Caroline County with Executive Director Mrs. Gertrude L Nilsson and fund raising chair Mrs. George Olds. Sister Identifies Body Of Span Death By Own Action
The body of Carl Walter Magnuson, an engineer for Westinghouse in Baltimore, was identified by his sister Mrs. Rex Anderson of Denver. Police say he died from a 200 foot fall after climbing over the bridge guard rail on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge central span on Sept. 29. a duck hunter found the body near Silver Spring. The body was transported to Denver for burial.

Burning Car Puzzle Targets Three Caroline Youths
Delaware State Police investigated a wreck and arson on a 1941 sedan found burned in a Felton area ditch. Three youths, Leon Collins 19 of Greensboro and two others, allegedly tried to commit insurance fraud but discovered no policy existed and may face charges after consulting the attorney general's office. Police say they defrauded no one and may have failed to complete a crime.
