Second United Fund Drive Budget Approved
A $24 646 budget for the second annual United Fund Drive was approved Monday night by the Board of Directors of the County Fund organization. The budget, about $3 000 higher than last year, expands to eight agencies including The Salvation Army and Music Therapy. Music Therapy aids patients at the Eastern Shore State Hospital with a year round program supported largely by United Funds. The $1 142 in expenses funds three United Fund signs to be placed in Fed eralsburg Greensboro and Court House Green, with $200 for secretarial services. The drive begins October 12 with advanced gifts under Charles Hadaway and general solicitation starting October 26.

Extradition and court actions clash in Federalsburg area
Extradition of James B. Quick from Charlottesville back to Delaware over alleged false pretenses was approved by Chief Judge J DeWeese Carter after a four month Caroline County jail term. Julius Caesar Jones was found guilty of assault near Federalsburg and fined 200 dollars with a suspended year in Maryland’s House of Correction. Pilkenton was convicted of drunken driving and related offenses. Amos Nichols and Thomas Jackson Jr. faced drunken driving and reckless driving verdicts in Trial Magistrate Court. Caroline County 4-H girls submitted their record books for judging by Homemakers 4-H Committee members led by Grace H. Palen. The enrollment as of Jan 1, 1959 stood at 212. awards were given in Blue Red and White divisions across multiple clubs including Aunt Pearl's, Concord Chipmunks, Denton Little Homemakers, and Ridgely Little Homemakers with numerous named members.

Service Clubs Tour New North Caroline High School Dinner
About 150 service club members from Denton Greensboro Queen Anne and Ridgely joined county officials and educators Tuesday evening for a dinner in the Cafetorium and a tour of the newly opened North Caroline Senior School. The event highlighted the building cost 1 350 000 with capacity for 700 students and featured tours led by student guides and remarks from Superintendent Wilbur Hoppengardner and Principal Frank Gerhardt.

Accident in Fog North of Denton Injures Driver
Early Monday morning in dense fog about 6 30 Ernest Nichols of near Greensboro drove south on Route 313 one mile north of Denton. His 2 door Ford struck a parked ton Chevrolet truck owned by W T Loberman of Denton with no lights. Nichols was thrown, car roof demolished, transported to Memorial Hospital Easton then University of Maryland Hospital Baltimore for head injury. State Police investigate.
