Caroline County Farm Bureau and Associated Women of the Caroline County Farm Bureau held their annual conven tion in Baltimore last week. Directors elected include Frank D. Ziegler Sr Denton LaVerne Bullock Federalsburg H Coursey Edwards Ridgely and Ross Robinson Federalsburg for four years and Herbert Ruf Greensboro for three years to fill the late Clarence J Kern’s term. Ziegler reelected president with Carl Rieck Preston as vice president and Mrs Reese Brown Denton as secretary treasurer. Livestock Survey Cards Mailed To Md Farmers
Nearly 12 000 postal cards were left in rural Maryland mail boxes to count livestock and poultry. Creighton N Guellow Maryland statistician for the Agricultural Marketing Service says cards will help determine numbers on farms and compare with other states for the U S tally. He began duties on Monday November 26 after completing work toward his Bachelors Degree on November 21 at East Carolina Teachers College Greenville NC. A U S Air Force veteran he served three years as staff sergeant in personnel in the Far East. He made the Dean's list and honor roll while at East Carolina and finished practice teaching before his appointment replacing A J Fletcher who resigned for another job.

Four Denton Children Hurt In Auto Mishap
Four high school pupils from Denton were hospitalized at Memorial Hospital in Easton after a Sunday auto accident. Thomas Reed 17 of Tuckahoe Neck Suzanne Orme 14 daughter of the Caroline County treasurer Martha Orme 16 and Leonard Gore 17 of Denton sustained injuries. Driver Wilbur Adams 34 of Denton was uninjured. Reed suffered a fractured right shoulder Suzanne Orme a punctured lung and head injury Martha Orme head injuries Gore lacerations and brush burns. Dorothy Fleetwood Denton driver also uninjured. Trooper Myers said Fleetwood in a left turn into Caroline Bowling Lanes on Route 313 north of Denton at about 12 05 am Sunday, when Adams southbound struck the other car in the right rear.

Instrumental Music Program Grows in Caroline County
Beginning in September 1956 Earl Roberts became full time instrumental teacher for four Caroline County schools. Over 225 students enrolled in classes with advanced and beginner bands performing at parades meetings football games and plays. Christmas Trees Must Be Inspected For Moth

Eleven Year Old Girl Victim Seized by Four Boys
An eleven year old Black girl reported to Sheriff William E Andrews that at about 11 30 p m Saturday she was grabbed by four boys on the way home from the movies. A handkerchief was placed over her mouth and she was injured. Sheriff Andrew and Trooper I C Myers arrested three boys who were held in Caro line County Jail until Tuesday morning and released to their parents pending juvenile petitions.

Caroline County fire companies answered 12 alarms in October, eight rural and two urban. Alarms broke down into grass, chimney, dwelling, autos, mercantile, combine, shed, lost child, and two false alarms. Denton, Federalsburg, Goldsboro, Greensboro, Preston, Queen Anne Hillsboro, and Ridgely each yearned responses totaling the county. Firemen logged 215 manhours and traveled 54 miles, using 1,050 feet of 1-inch hose and raising 54 feet of ladders. Total fire loss reached 2600 dollars, with 500 dollars insured.
