Cedar Grove P H Church Calls Rev Mary Garrett

The Cedar Grove Church near White leysburg Maryland has called Mary P. Garrett as pastor after revivals and growing Sunday School. She previously led Pilgrim Holiness Goldsboro and Cape Charles Virginia. A revival runs Nov 29 to Dec 9 with evangelist Rev Juddie Peyton of Mount Hope West Virginia.

Relief Clothing Drive Set for November 28

Relief truck will collect usable clothing bedding and material from the Denton Church of the Brethren Ridgely Church of the Brethren Union Methodist Church Federalsburg and the aston Church of the Brethren on Wednesday November 28. Donations may be brought to these churches before mid morning Wednesday. The Caroline County Ministerium backs the drive publicized in cooperating churches.

Rural home for retired to rise near Wilmington Delaware

The Peninsula Conference of the Methodist Church plans a modern rural home for fifty guests opposite the Winterthur Farms estate near Wilmington. The Methodist Country House will offer full life care under the Founders Plan and aims to serve Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore, with funds to be raised across the Conference districts.

The Woman's Society of Christian Service of First Methodist Church Denton hosts a Christmas Bazaar at Fellowship Hall on Nov 29 and 30 from 9 to 9. An Air Force plane carrying 27 bales of children underwear left Washington November 14 on a Red Cross mercy flight to Hungarian refugee children in Austria. The shipment, from the American Red Cross Children’s Fund, will be transferred in New York to Pan American planes bound for Europe. About 14,000 refugees are in Austria.

Church of Brethren Held Covered Dish Supper

The Church of the Brethren Home builders held a covered dish supper in Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 p m. Men attended as guests. After the meal a program featured Mrs Earl Crouse on The Role of Fathers In The Home followed by a panel discussing youth dating and late curfews. Hostesses were Mrs Earl Crouse and Mrs Eugene Collison. Next meeting is December 12 at Mrs Lloyd Hang.

Strong Market Endangered Warns Jonn WY Newlin

Interstate official John W. Newlin warned that adopting a marketwide pool for the Philadelphia milk area could erode the strong fluid milk market built over years and lower producer prices. He contrasted New York’s market pool with Philadelphia’s handler pool and urged preserving competition to sustain high blend prices.

Two Injured In Head On Collision Near Ridgely

On Sunday morning November 18 at 6 50 a car driven by Charles R Rampmeyer of Greensboro and a car driven by Joseph N I Kusmaul of Wilmington collided head on on route 480 about one mile south of Greensboro. Kusmaul was charged with failure to keep to the right. Rampmeyer faced no charges. Both drivers were taken to Memorial Hospital Easton with serious injuries. Investigation by Cpl. Gus Koste.

Upper Choptank Protective Association Meets

The regular monthly meeting of the Upper Choptank Protective Association was held Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the Red Men’s Hall, Greensboro. A good number attended as the group discussed the year’s achievements, including releasing 300 quail and plans for the Pimm Pond Project to provide fresh water fishing and boating. Officers elected: Temple Dean president, Hursey Porter vice president, Wilton Porter secretary, Harold Shively treasurer. Members are invited to join and participate in sports and wildlife activities.
