Denton Officials Discuss Post Office Site Swap and Street Widening
Denton County and Town Commissioners met to review a General Services Administration plan to build a new Denton Post Office on a site outside the Caroline County Court House Green. The government would trade land, with the county buying back Green land and the town funding the new site. Options were signed for the northeast corner of Fifth and Market Streets. Relocation plans for residents on the McDaniel property were discussed, and street widening on Second Street and Gay Street was approved to improve parking.

Federal Milk Order Signed By Agriculture Secretary
Secretary of Agriculture Ezra T. Benson signed the Federal Milk Marketing Order No 127 for the Upper Chesapeake Bay Area on Friday November 20. A referendum among covered dairy farmers will determine support by a two thirds majority. The Maryland Cooperative Milk Producers Inc MCMP backs the Order for about 1700 members with 500 non members also covered. The order maintains Class I price at 5.55 per hundredweight July through February and 5.10 in March through June, with a 12 cent country station differential for rural receiving and cooling stations within 75 miles of Baltimore City Hall or Salisbury Court House. MCMP manager W P Sadler says can shippers will be adequately served and cooperates with producers and dealers on can shipments.

State Trooper Activity During The Past Week
The State Police report for the past week lists several accidents. Everett Martin Jr. of Rockville hit a deer on Route 404 east of Hillsboro causing $100 damage. Ellis Hayes of Greenwood Del collided with John Russell Carroll of Federalsburg while Hayes was passing on Route 318 east of Federalsburg. Carroll cited for failing to keep right center and Hayes for improper passing. Jerry Plugge of Cordova westbound on Route 404 east of Denton hit a deer causing $250 damage. Roland Starkey of Felton eastbound on Route 404 two miles west of Denton collided with a deer causing $100 damage. Charles R. Wilkerson of Wyoming Del on Route 313 at Oil City was rear-ended by Doris Ann Trippe of Denton. combined damage about $500. Trippe charged with following too closely and Wilkerson with failing to grant right of way.

John G. Wilson, 44, of Ridgely, died last Friday when his car left State Route 328 two miles east of Easton and plunged into an embankment. Feed Wheat Program Still Available in Maryland
Maryland farm brief notes a farmer with under 30 acres of Wheat allotment and excess land may join the feed wheat program next year. National Convention delegates are Edwards and Adams. Total membership reached 368. The meeting followed a covered dish supper with the Associated Women.
