Recreation Leadership Course Here in Denton
Miss Ruth Garber Ehlers will conduct a four day recreation leadership course in Denton sponsored by Caroline County Board of Education with State Education support. The program, open to ages 16 to 70, emphasizes non athletic activities and invites participation from teachers and all community groups. Sessions run Monday to Thursday at various schools with no admission fee.

A garment finishing demonstration for plain and better dresses will be hosted by Homemakers Clubs on November 28 at the Brethren Church in Denton. Miss Bessie M. Spafford of the Maryland Extension Service will direct, with sessions on pattern handling and sewing techniques. The event runs from 10:00 A M with staystitching darts and neck finishes and invites all interested women to attend and bring supplies for practice.

The Fathers and Sons of the congregation met November 18 for a Royal Ambassadors banquet. Dads and sons shared food and fellowship in the church’s lower auditorium decorated in R A colors blue white and gold. Shields for boys were made by Mrs Mary Dorman who directed the decorating. The toastmaster was Knight Douglas Spicher and welcome by Squire Douglas Schurman. Page Conrad Hardesty explained the order colors followed by singing The King’s Business. Fred Monroe led old songs and Rev Du Bois led games and stunts including a bubble blowing contest won by Fred Monroe. The boys recited their oath and declared allegiance with the watchword We are ambassadors for Christ. The guest speaker Rev Carl P McNally urged witnessing for the Lord.
