Cordova Woman Killed In Auto Crash
A 38 year old Cordova woman Hazel Grace Baynard was killed in a two car crash on Route 404 north of Queen Anne last Friday around 11 pm. Police report she pulled onto the highway without stopping and was struck broadside by a car driven by Wilson Irwin of Denton. Irwin sustained minor injuries and was treated for shock. State police at Easton said preliminary findings indicate no arrest.

Marydel Woman Dies In Small Flash Fire
Alice Phillips 23 died from asphyxiation after a flash fire at Nick's Lunch in Marydel. Her 4-year-old son Daniel Lee Phillips and 60-year-old proprietor Nicholas Mazulianous suffered burns. both were hospitalized at Kent General Hospital. Fire officials blame an overheated oil stove that exploded around 2 a.m. and note the blaze caused mainly paint and smoke damage to the restaurant.

Caroline Woman Injured In Auto Wreck Near Greensboro
Mrs Edith D Stevenson of near Greensboro was injured Sunday at 11 am when her car was struck by a milk truck at a dead end intersection. Truck driver Eugene Fisher Brown of Sadlersville said brakes failed. Brown was charged with operating a truck with inadequate brakes. The truck is owned by Ja betz I Brown, his son.
