The Chairman of Caroline County Health Association urges generous support for the 1949 Tag Day. Mrs. Frank Zeigler commends volunteers and notes one fourth of funds go to permanent County Health offices. Last year 936.15 was raised with 247.70 for the Building Fund and multiple health improvements funded by tag sales.

More than 380 Caroline county residents receive Old Age and Survivors Insurance checks through the Salisbury Social Security office. As of June 30, about 210 retired workers 72 wives 15 widows 12 widows with children 68 children and several dependent parents collect monthly benefits totaling over $6,000 locally and about $176,000 statewide to 36,200 beneficiaries. The program’s payments boost the county’s economy and have grown since 1948.

The Denton community continues a fundraising drive for Boy Scout funds led by Byron H. Nuttie, chairing the legal committee.
