Caroline Unit No. 29 Holds Meeting
The American Legion Auxiliary Caroline Unit No. 29 met on Thursday night November 3 in the Legion Home. The Child Welfare and Rehabilitation Committee reported helping one needy veteran and family and buying groceries. The Halloween party October 28 raised eight dollars at the door and sixty one gifts for layettes. Gifts from the shower will aid veterans families as needed. Post Home decor featured orange and black streamers jack o lanterns witches and a stork and witch display. Refreshments included coffee and doughnuts. President Mrs Lucille Towse thanks all contributors and volunteers. The group voted five dollars to Caroline County Nurses Tag Day and plans are under way to send gifts to Perry Point Hospital for veterans from hospital staff with hospice wrap and delivery arranged.

The 1949 Maryland Tuberculosis Association Christmas Seal Sale opens November 21 and runs through December 25. President William H. Staub says a fund goal of 324000 has been set to sustain a year round anti tuberculosis program including chest clinics mass x ray surveys and public education in Maryland. The Caroline P T A held its second meeting at the High School Auditorium on Monday November 7 with vice president Mrs C E Roberts presiding in president Mr Elias Nuttle’s absence. A White Elephant Sale is planned for December to raise funds, asking members to donate saleable goods or cookies and baked items. Denton Woman Pinned In Car After Crash
Mrs Earle Crouse of Denton was trapped in her car for an hour and a half after a collision near Wye Malls. She was taken to Memorial Hospital Easton with broken bones. Mrs Stevens Browne, also of Denton, escaped unharmed after being thrown from the vehicle as they traveled to Baltimore for a PTA meeting.

Amendments Proposed for Caroline County Health Assoc By Laws
At the annual meeting set for Tuesday November 22 at 8 P M in Caroline High School members will vote on amendments. A Tuberculosis standing committee of three will be created to affiliate with the Maryland Tuberculosis Association and operate under the Christmas Seal contract. German Student To Come Here From Germany
