The event on Tuesday November 18 visits Greensboro Ridgely Denton Preston and Federalsburg with demonstrations of bomb removal rescue gear and unexploded ordnance handling for public participation.

Wilson A. Heaps president and Claude C. Phillips vice president of the Maryland Farm Bureau will be delegates to the American Farm Bureau Federation annual convention in Seattle December 7 to 10. Heaps, a Harford County dairyman in his third term leading Maryland’s 11,000 members, will join the AFBF Resolutions Committee and serve on the national board. Phillips, a large Eastern Shore poultry businessman from Wicomico County, has long been active in Farm Bureau work. Lo Hoke Jr., Shore fieldman, will represent the state office staff. he lives in Ridgely, Caroline County.

Chester Man Is First Death by Own Action at Delaware Bridge
The first self inflicted death at the Delaware Memorial Bridge since its completion occurred about 9 30 last Tuesday when a Chester man jumped 190 feet to the water. James E Hampton 30 of Chester Pa was identified by cards in his pockets. He parked on the main span east of center, left the engine running, stepped to the south rail and leaped off with the body recovered within thirty minutes.
