State Trooper Activity In The Past Week
State Troopers logged several incidents last week. Percy H. Turner of Dover hit a bridge railing near Greensboro, car damage about 200 dollars and he will be charged with reckless driving. Four minors near Federalsburg faced charges for possessing alcohol. An October 31 incident involved four juveniles and the removal of 12 dynamite caps from a Smithville workshop. one boy warned others about caps and police cautioned against using short wave radios. Masters of ceremonies called the crowd to safety as caps posed risk during Halloween. Elon Wright of Denton failed to yield to John Holland Jr of Denton in a near head on collision at Gay Street and Hobbs Road. Wright was charged with failure to yield and Holland with reckless driving. Total damage about 400 dollars.

Federalsburg Seeks Liquor Store Exit From Town
The Federalsburg Mayor and Council moved to remove the Caroline County liquor dispensary from the town. At the November 2 1959 meeting they adopted a home rule charter amendment to prohibit selling alcoholic beverages beyond beer, effective December 23 1959, enabling the council to ban liquor sales within Federalsburg.
