Greensboro's annual Hallowe'en parade drew a large crowd with awards for individuals led by sponsor Greensboro Lions Club chaired by Oren T. Lewis. Window painting prizes honored students Hallie Wilson and others, while Denton Lions Club outlined fund raising plans and community services.
Denton’s Halloween celebration drew a large crowd for a parade and street dance on Monday evening. Prizes honored diverse costumes from Pair of Dice to Three Men in a Tub and Marilyn Monroe impersonation, with families and trick or treaters enjoying cider, gingersnaps, and a lively high school grounds gathering.
The Denton Commissioners respond to the Denton Chamber of Commerce letter dated October 26 1955 noting no formal complaints have been filed with the Commissioners. They invite chamber members present at the October 24 meeting to meet on November 7 1955 at 8 o'clock PM in the Fire House Office to discuss alleged police complaints and provide the commissioners with details.
The Caroline County Clothing Committee hosts a sewing machine care session at the Greensboro Fire House on November 10 at 10 am led by Mr A V Krewatch University of Maryland extension engineer. Attendees should bring machines cleaning cloths stitching cloths newspapers to protect floors and lunch and ensure matching bobbin and spool thread tensions.
The Easton and Salisbury Methodist District Conferences meet at St Pauls Cambridge on Tuesday November 15 at 10:00 AM. The program includes devotional leading by Rev F D Milbury, reports on funds and licenses, greetings from boards, and a keynote on Christian Stewardship. At 1 PM a lunch follows and Drs Edgar R and Elizabeth Miller discuss why they go to Nepal as medical missionaries. All are invited.

The treasurer’s report from the Caroline County Health Association’s annual meeting on October 20 summarizes Tag Day expenditures. Items include calcium and other supplements for residents, equipment for the Mental Hygiene Clinic, hospital beds and loan Closets, wheelchairs and crutches, a film dryer for more X rays, clinic gowns and aprons, plus miscellaneous supplies, all for direct patient care. Tag Day is set for November 1 and residents are urged to contribute.
The LTaston District WSCS will hold a Day Apart at St. Pauls Methodist Church Greensboro on Wednesday November 9 from 10 30 a m to 3 p m The speaker will be Mrs Louise Eggleston noted religious speaker and writer who has traveled across America Guests bring a box lunch the host church will serve dessert and beverage
Caroline County BPWC celebrated its fifteenth anniversary at Greensboro with a dinner on Wednesday October 26. The event honored eight past presidents Elizabeth M. Stafford Bessie M. Spafford Alma B. Fisher Mattie M. Smith Rachel Collison Beatrice Williams Alicia Knotts and Rebecca Collison. Current president Beulah Carter invited each former leader to summarize her term, a vivid display of growth. Greensboro Quartet William Bailey Marvin Hewitt Carlton Porter Carmen Leggett performed, with piano by Carmen Leggett as accompanist. Four Easton BPW Club members attended.
James H. Lynch of Ridgely, president of the Young Democratic Club of Caroline County, is named Eastern Shore Regional Director of the Young Democrats of Maryland. David J. Preller announced the appointment and spoke at a Tidewater Inn meeting where Eastern Shore clubs planned a 5000-member drive and a March 1956 Jefferson Jackson dinner with a national guest. Attendees included Senator John C. North, James P. Bailey, Delegate William Burkley, Linwood Yates, Marion Jones, Elroy Boyer, Thomas Willey, Betty Nelson, Mary Thompson and Byron Fairall.
The WSCS Bazaar at First Methodist Church Den ton runs in Fellowship Hall on December 1 and 2 from 9 am to 9 pm. Featuring gifts jewelry books country store 10c items aprons candy cookbooks candles and more. Lunch and supper planned both days with decor chairpeople and poster committee noted.
Denton Cub Scout Pack 265 met at the First Methodist Church with Assistant Cub Master Tom Robbins presiding. Six new Cubs earned Bobcat pins and several others received One Year Service pins Wolf badge and Denner stripes while Denner badges Keeper of the Buckskin were awarded.
Mrs. William G Towers announces district chairmen for the Caroline County Tag Day Drive to be held Saturday November 5. Denton West Denton Federalsburg Preston Ridgely Greensboro Goldsboro Henderson Marydel Colored. Public urged to contribute generously to support Caroline County Health Association programs.
Mrs. Barbara Harrington, major in Home Economics at the University of Maryland, begins an eight week student teaching stint at Caroline High under Mrs. Doris Stivers. A Ridgely native and former Ridgely High editor and valedictorian, she has wide 4-H MYF farm queen credentials and University activities with Gamma Phi Beta, Chapel Choir, Home Economics Club, and Wesley Foundation. She married Joseph Harrington in August and has lived in Denton since.
Howard Eley announced continued campaign setup for Memorial Hospital at Easton with J Jerome Frampton Jr organizing Federalsburg area volunteers including O G Martino and W Johnson Bonner. Northern Caroline County campaign leaders were not yet named while the hospital reported 168 local patients received free care costing 9607 dollars in the year ended June 30 1955.
