Denton Chamber of Commerce and Denton Volunteer Fire Co host a Halloween parade and festivities Monday night at 7 from the Fire House to the High School grounds. Firemen band and hundreds of children participate with costume prizes, games, races, tug of war, a street dance and square dancing. Prizes include a new family group prize of 10 dollars and other cash awards. Event organizers and helpers are named, with plans for cider and ginger snaps served by the Ladies Auxiliary.

The Ladies' Auxiliary of the Caroline County Firemen's Association met in Denton on Friday for the fifth anniversary. Mrs. Mary Leslie presided and received a corsage while officers were honored with flowers. Eighty nine members attended as local auxiliaries performed entertainment and gifts were given as souvenirs. A large anniversary cake and refreshments followed. Future meeting in Federalsburg will elect 1956 officers.

The Easton District superintendent announced at Thawley's Chapel 90th anniversary that Rev Harry V Branford will succeed the late Rev Wilson Davis as temporary Ridgely Charge pastor. Branford, a retired Peninsula Conference minister, lives in Rehoboth Beach and will move with his wife to Ridgely once Mrs Davis vacates the parsonage. Mrs Davis attended with her father Peter Mulder and offered white chrysanthemums in memory of her husband. Branford previously served Centreville Methodist Church and Kent Island Charge.
