Chief of Police Frank Dennis was found guilty of violating a State Board of Agriculture quarantine order forcing dogs to be kept from April 15 to July 15. A $1 fine and costs were imposed with suspended sentence. an appeal to the circuit court was planned to challenge the board’s authority.

Greensboro Band participated in the parade marking the season start. Denton official Harold Towers threw out the first ball at the high school grounds. A Queen of Little League will be chosen from four candidates by jar donations in local stores. First game Rotary beat Legion Auxiliary 29 28. Lions defeated Legion 25 5. Legion Auxiliary and Rotary tied 10 10. Tuesday Legion won over Lions 24 12.
