Dr John E French pastor of First Methodist Church Denton for twelve years was honored by the Peninsula Annual Conference as the second of four ministerial delegates elected to represent the Conference at the Fifth Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference to be held in Ocean City New Jersey in June 1956. The Conference groups about twenty annual conferences from Boston New York Philadelphia Syracuse Pittsburgh and Washington areas plus Puerto Rico and Central Africa Provisional Areas. Falling Tree Kills County Man In Delaware Accident
Charles F. Hughes aged 72 of Goldsboro died after a tree fell while he cut timber east of Barratt's Chapel north of Frederica. He died at Milford Memorial Hospital from shock and multiple rib fractures. Funeral services are planned at Hughes Chapel near Goldsboro today at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Greensboro Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter Lola Bright of Goldsboro, a grandson, a great granddaughter, a sister and a brother, plus several nieces and nephews.
